Windstream Broadband Stimulus Project

Between July 2011 and December 2014, CTS Construction constructed over seven hundred twenty-five (725) miles of fiber optic network, three hundred fifty-one (351) new and retrofit DLC switch sites and groomed and upgraded several hundred miles of existing copper network to prepare the legacy network for DSL services.  CTS performed all fiber and copper splicing associated with this undertaking, as well as cutting over all sites.

The network was a combination of new and existing pole line, aerial, buried and underground fiber optic cable installation.

The Broadband Initiatives Project was facilitated through the Department of Agriculture and the Rural Utilities Service.  The project was subject to extensive reporting as well as compliance with Davis Bacon Wage requirements associated with over seventy-five individual contracts.
